05 Jan 10 new year beauty resolutions you’ll actually keep
Hello 2018! Kick start your year with our round-up of beauty resolutions you’ll actually want to keep!
When it comes to new year resolutions, here at Insanity Tan HQ, we’re advocators of anything that helps us look and feel amazing. And with January being a month that’s typically associated with doom and gloom, we say let’s make it a fabulous start to the year. While we can all get hung up on losing weight, drinking less and working out more, an easy way to inject some fun into your January, is by focusing on feeling good. Because, after all, when we feel good, we look it too! So without further ado, here’s our round-up of new year beauty resolutions that you’ll actually want to keep in 2018.
1. Get your glow on
Okay, so you’ve probably vowed that you’re sitting in this month, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t glow girl! This year, vow to keep your tan game strong at all times. A survey by Cosmopolitan revealed that self tan is one of the nation’s favourite ways to boost our confidence and we can’t say we’re surprised. That feeling that comes with a gorgeous golden glow should definitely be celebrated so we say get your glow on this year! To top up your Insanity Tan stash, shop online here.
2. Clean your make-up brushes
Something we’re probably all guilty of, our make-up brushes are often neglected. They easily get clogged full of dirt and grime, and can cause break outs in the process. Treat yours to some TLC by simply washing with a little shampoo and leaving to dry naturally.
3. Care for your colour
A trip to the hairdressers can be costly so keep your colour fresh for as long as possible. We subject our hair to blowdrying, tonging and straightening on a daily basis, so once a week, vow to treat your hair with a leave in conditioning treatment. This will keep your tresses in tip top shape and your colour on point for longer.
4. Experiment a little
It’s amazing the confidence that comes with stepping outside of our comfort zone. Something as simple as trying a new shade of lipstick can make us feel amazing. Every month, experiment a little. Whether it’s a new colour of eyeshadow, trying highlighter or filling in your brows, give something new a go!
5. Indulge in some me-time
Busy days at work and a hectic social life can leave us with little time to unwind each week. This year, make it your resolution to set aside some time for yourself each week to really relax by switching off your phone and laptop. We’d also recommend doing so in the bath with an amazing bath oil and a good book for company.
6. Don’t sleep with your makeup on
No doubt you’ve heard it time and time again so put what you’ve learned into practice. Give yourself just a few minutes each night (and morning) to cleanse, tone and moisturise. Your skin will thank you for it and you’ll notice the difference in just a couple of weeks.
7. Out with the old
Remember, make-up products have a shelf life. Using out of date makeup can transfer bacteria to our face, not to mention, products no longer hold their efficiency. Kick start January by doing a proper beauty clear out. Get rid of products you never use, or those which have been hanging around for way too long. The January sales are a great time to stock on on new make-up items for less.
8. Drink more water
Yip… you’ve heard it before, but the golden rule is always to drink more water. Our skin definitely takes a hit in January following the festive season blowout so detoxify it by drinking more water. Buy yourself a reusable bottle, perfect for those days on-the-go and keep your skin hydrated and glowing.
9. Give your skin a weekly clean
A deep skin clean is the perfect way to rid it of the congestion and dirt that builds up within our pores, causing breakouts. Treat yourself to a new face mask and allow it to work its magic once a week.
10. Treat your hands
We put our hands through so much in a day so it isn’t surprising that they need a little TLC too. Keep a hand cream in your handbag and massage some into your hands the next time you’re sitting in traffic to keep them beautiful!
Happy new year! Here’s to a beautiful one…
